My beauty blender used to be of the makeup tools which gave me a lot of headaches because of how difficult it is to clean. Beauty blenders have a unique ability to absorb water, which expands their shape. First, it’s important to find the right cleanser.  You can use liquid brush cleansers, or the same cleanser you use on your face. Fully immerse the beauty blender in warm water under the tap. Next gently “swirl and lather” the beauty blender on the solid soaps and massage the soap in the beauty tool.

One lather, massage, and rinse usually isn’t enough, so you need to allow the soap to break apart product buildup within the tool. You’ll know you have a clean beauty blender when the suds you squeeze out are clear from foundation tones.

Finally, squeeze out as much water as possible. This will allow the beauty blender to dry faster. Let the beauty blender fully air dry as well before placing them back into a closed container, or you may find your half damp, sealed sponges have decided to mold.

It’s important to then shape the brushes to their desired shape so that when they’re dry, they’re in their original form for better performance.
